If you decide to Dual-boot (Run two Operating System's at the same time) on your PC. There are two ways
​
1. Dual-booting :- This is whereby both Operating Systems are installed on your Computer's Hard Disk. You will need Partitioning for this and a lot of space especially for the updates. Gives More and Lot's of comfort and features than Virtual Machines you will see in number 2.
​
2. Virtual Machine (Opportunity Cost) :- YES, This is an Opportunity Cost (Next Best Alternative) because you will be running Two Operating Systems while in one so you can use both at the same time. This is what is especially used by people to make sure their programs are working and contains no Malware. You will not need Partitioning for the Virtual Machine will create a VDI (Virtual Disk Image) that replaces your Hard Disk for a Partition of your own Operating System; Virtual Machines give less features though and makes your PC Slower, some Operating Systems will not have network and also more and more issues. I recommend you use Virtual Machine if you need to check working software's and fix their issues (Virtual Machines are mostly used by Computer Programmers and Engineers).
It is next best Alternative because you can install multiple Operating Systems. Up to even 5 or 10.
Let's get to it.
The Virtual Machine used here is VMWare Workstation 12. Not a free Virtual Machine. You still will have to pay a bit. It is free for sometime like 12 to 30 days. If you need a license key contact me so I may tell you how to get it.
